I had to do some shaving down and tapping with a rubber mallet to make it fit my VZ2008 but I did it myself in about an hour. The upper part rotates on like previous AK upper rail I have done. You have to bend the metal tabs down to rotate the old one off. Then don't forget to put your "nuts" in place inside this before you rotate the new one all the way in place. I missed that step and had to go back and do it again. These "nuts" allow your bolts to go in place to mount your side rails. Other than that I had to just shave the edges down with my pocket knife little by little. When I thought I had shaved enough I took a rubber mallet and tapped on it slowly and it pretty much shaved the rest off by itself (against the sharp corner of the gun). It looks a little "bowed out" on both sides but not really enough to notice unless your a stickler for perfection. I think it makes my VZ2008 look very sharp. Much better than the original wood/polymer composite stock look.
