Berkley GHFF1-FO Gulp Fish Fry, Orange, 1-Inch Review

The rod/reel combo is well balanced and guides are sturdy. The drag on the reel is smooth and durable. This is the best casting distance from a factory rod/reel combo that I have seen, very smooth and goes a country mile. The rod has great sensitivity and great flexibility. The inserts in the guides can chip if you drop/throw your rod down a lot on rocks or concrete surfaces. I have caught over three dozen redfish in the 20" to 30" range and more than 4 dozen speckled trout in the 18" to 24" with this combo with 20 lb Spiderwire Ultracast Invisi-Braid. I have used spoons (1/4 oz - 3/4 oz), hard plastic lures (1/4 oz- 7/8 oz), soft plastic worms, gulp shrimp and mullet with 1/2 oz jigheads, gotcha plugs (1/2 oz - 1 oz) and all work excellent with this setup. For the money this is the best all around combo I have found for inshore saltwater fishing. I have recommended this combo to five friends who have bought it and they say it is the best combo they have bought. Best $75 I spent on a rod/reel combo.

Jogging Stroller Sun Protector - InStep Schwinn TT Double Review

I bought this cover for my Schwin Turismo double jogger. I was impressed that the company, CSN Stores, contacted me before shipping to make sure they sent the right cover for my particular model. The cover fits the stroller well and does seem to provide good shade and windbreak for the children inside. However, it does have some design limitations. First, and most annoying to me, it blocks access to the parent tray and cupholders. Second, it makes it difficult to move the stroller's sunshades once it is on. It certainly cannot be done on the go. However, as the cover itself does provide shade, this is not a huge deal. So, all in all, this is a good buy. But, a cover that didn't block access to the parent tray and cupholders would be a BIG improvement.

Wilson 1001P Pro Pattern Practice Football Review

I purchased this football last year because I was having football withdrawal over here in Thailand where I teach. I wanted something to throw around with my fellow teachers during football season. This particular football is very similar to those I used while playing college ball at Portland State. We have enjoyed throwing the ball around, and the kids here at the school have also tried to throw and catch with us (although, not having ever seen an American football prior to this, it has proved to be both interesting and entertaining to watch them learn). It has proved to be very durable, and shows little sign of wear and tear even after the kids joined in. I expect to get several more years of use out of it (or more) before needing to get a new one. The price was very good, and getting it shipped over here with the help of my Godfather was not too expensive. I will purchase this brand and version again (if it is still available when I need to replace this one), and will go through Amazon again for the purchase, as they made it easy to purchase and the shipping was quick.

I highly recommend this football to anyone wanting a good practice ball or just a ball to throw around. It will serve its purpose well and is very affordable (good bang for the buck). It also has held up well when used in wet weather... which we have here occasionally. It can be used by young teenagers up to adults as far as size goes (little kids might have a little problem throwing it), and it is easy on the hands as far as catching it goes.

Ontario 9415BM Ranger Ready Detachment RD4 Knife (Black) Review

The Ontario Ranger series RD4 is a-w-e-s-o-m-e! Well, for a fact so is most of the series. I use the RD4 to compliment an RTAK II, RD9 or the Condor Boomslang serving as choppers or batoners. I find a 4 - 5" blade an excellent size for detail work.

The 4" blade of the Ranger is made of 5160 steel - that's basically a car leaf spring forged into a knife. The blade is 1/4" thick so this makes the knife very, very strurdy and hefty (not heavy). So folks argue for smaller balde knives to be thinner, like 3/16". I can understand that point, but trust me at 1/4" of heat treated 5160 steel this knife can pry, baton (if you have enough tip blade to baton through the wood), slice, gut, clean, and hammer - yes hammer (awesome pummel on the end of kife).

The shealth, as common with the rest of the Ranger series knives, leaves a lot to be desired. As soon as you take the knife out of the sheath you kinda stare at and start looking for the rest of the knife in the sheath - as the sheath is much bigger than the knife suggests. Sheath is MOLLE compatible, but is the most rugged and does not hold kife in place tightly as it allows the knife to rattle. I have an after-market kydex sheath attached to my MOLLE system.

The entire Ranger series designed by Justin Gingrich is great. I love the RD4, RD7 and the RD9 - owning the 4 and 9 having used the RD7 and Ranger Afghan (also reccomended).

In the end you can do much, much worse than the Ranger series when buying a knife. You would have to try, I mean really try, to break this knife. I have put the RD4 through the side of an old car door with no blade chips, just scrtaches. The finish has held up over the past years of use.

Worth the money. A knife that will last you through the years in the field, through deployment after deployment, and task after task. You can go spend $200+ on a Benchmade or a Zero Tolerance (both fine knives is design, purpose and quality) but for practical use (camping, hiking, military field use) and cost-to-value-ratio I will pick the OKC Ranger series just about every time.

Queen Drop Point Oak Hunter Knife Review

This is a BEAUTIFUL, well-made knife. I had been looking for a top quality sheath knife made in the U.S.A., and I would say this is it. The oak handle is beautiful, the blade is D2 tool steel, and the sheath is nice; I love the tool work on it. I have been looking at Queen Cutlery knives, and overall, the consensus seems to be that they are one of the best traditional knife brands, and one of the best knife brands altogether. I am not an expert, but I know what I like, and I know quality when I see it. Of the brands with which I am familiar, I would say Queen Cutlery knives are the best, and they are probably one of the top three brands of traditional knives. I would highly recommend this product.
