I liked the swirls of so many layers ( 71 ) bonded into one blade and also found on the baluster of the knife handle too. This knide is very sharp out of the box and did not require any touch up sharpening. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because some non metal impurity is present on one side of the knife blade that resembles coal spots/carbon embedded into the medal. When I attempted to clean then out with my metal cleaner ( flitz ) it became apparent the impurities go fairly deep into the medal, to deep to remove with even a good metal polish although I was able to remove some. I think boker should have done a better job inspecting this otherwise beautiful knife to make sure it was free of defects before shipping it to a customer.
