Product Description

The ASR has an authentic sniper feeling to it thanks in part to it's bolt action design. Made mostly of plastic, this sniper is pretty lightweight as far as airsoft sniper rifles go ( 7.5 lbs). A retractable stock allows the gun to fit most arm lengths and makes it more maneuverable. The bipod can unfold with the push of a button to help stabilize your shots. The ASR comes with 2 extra magazines capable of holding 25 BBs.

This sniper seems AWESOME for it's price, right? Well, that's what I thought at first. This gun is definitely not bad, don't get me wrong.

Pros:

High FPS. About 460-480 FPS with .20
LE stock with buffer tube
M4 pistol grip
Comes with three 23rd mags
Comes with metal foldeable, quick-detach, extendable bipod
Metal inner and outer barrel
ABS plastic, not cheap plastic
Lightweight for a sniper
L96 parts-compatible, I believe
Comes with a left-handed bolt as well as the right-handed one

Cons:
Buffer tube is a weird size, so you have to be careful about what other stocks you buy. A MOE or CTR stock won't fit from personal experience, though I've seen a crane stock fit.
Internals aren't metal. They definitely aren't nearly as good as they could be, which is a disappointment. They do have an upgrade kit for like $30; this will get you a stronger spring (adds like 20 FPS), a metal spring guide, and a metal piston.
The bipod isn't very sturdy, but better than no bipod.
Barrel spacers are just foam.

And if you want to make this your primary and wish to modify it, here's some tips:

Upgrade the spring, spring guide, and piston. Make it shoot about 500-550 FPS, depending on where you play. Upgrade the spring guide and piston to metal. Also, try to stay away from that upgrade kit I mentioned, the parts still aren't that great.
Scope, definitely. A good, cheap scope is the NcStar 3-9X40 Black Scope/Ruby Lens/Ring (SFB3940R). If you wanted to, you could even get a scope that has illumination.
Use heavier BBs. I would say .25 and heavier, and if you upgrade the spring to 500-550 FPS like I suggested, I would say .30 BBs would be good.
Get this speedloader: MetalTac Airsoft Speed Loader with Capacity of 100 Bbs - 2 packs. The adapter that comes with it can be used on these mags.
Upgrade the stock to a crane stock, or buy a riser for the LE stock that comes with it.
Upgrade the pistol grip and trigger guard. This is mostly for comfort, so it's up to you.
Get a better bipod if you plan on using one.
