As the first reviewer on this jacket, I feel obligated to preface this with the fact that I bought 2 of these jackets off S&C for $29.99 each. So my expectations are to a quite different level than the $60 jackets they are going for here on Amazon, and certainly different from the $90 they retail for. So here we go:

Pros:
- Lightweight. It's weight to warmth ratio is great. Right under down jackets.
-Has adjustable waist band for customisability
- Zippers are taped for moisture protection
- Great fit, I'm 5'9" 150lb and a small fits perfectly (not like a glove/skin tight). Meaning the sleeves don't scrunch up, and the body doesn't billow at all from top to bottom, basically, exactly like the models fit.

Cons:
- Compared to Uniqlo Full Zip fleece jacket (also new) for $19.90 RETAIL, it does not give an appreciable warmth increase. One stipulation: the Uniqlo is thicker (heavier), but isn't warmer though.

Now, as a reminder, this is the FIRST time wearing BOTH the Uniqlo and the Sherpa in 38F weather with 3mph wind. So all this really represents is straight out of the plastic bag performance. Even then, the Sherpa definitely is thinner and lighter but maintaining warmth with the thicker and heavier Uniqlo (we're talking maybe less than 50 gram difference though), additionally it has the taped zipper seams with the adjustable waistband (Uniqlo lacks both, in fact, no zipper pockets at all with Uniqlo). As far as longevity, I will come back and update this review. Secondly, as far as moisture wicking and drying capabilities (Sherpa specifically highlights these, Uniqlo makes no mention), I haven't assessed. At this point, Sherpa has a quality reputation, and I'm hopeful in the future performance differential gap will widen versus the cheaper stuff. Also, neither jackets compared have been challenged. The difference may become apparent in freezing weather. For the price I got it, I'd rather have the Sherpa. I like the look/style better, and I trust the technology and brand more. 4 stars because I KNOW that if I threw on a Patagonia, it'd be an appreciably different level.
