The picture looks like it is a nice weight material.. ..It is actually just a lightweight sturdy frame (the best part of it actually)..and a very very lightweight, cheap poor quality tarp which is practically paper thin and allows the sun to come right through which is excactly NOT what i was looking for. I bought this for my deck because the umbrellas are so small and you have to keep moving them around as the sun moves so i thought this would make a comforatable shaded area to hang out..It doesn't. The sun shone right through making it impossible to be comforatable under. I wish the picture were more accurate and the description had been honest about how cheap and thin and see through this tarp is..It reminds me of a very thin windbreaker material. If it's a cloudy day however it would be enough extra shade i suppose. I think i am going to find another covering for this to make it so the sun doesn't come right through. The frame is really great though..Not sturdy in the wind but if little wind it should be fine., Now to think of a way to replace the canopy (if thats what you can call it) with something that looks nice and protects from the sun. I had this on my deck and the first night it blew over onto the yard and thankfully was light enough to drag up the staircase, I used duct tape to hold it onto the deck rails and it's been really windy the last few days and rainy and it has thankfully not fallen off again so be forewarned if you put this out on a deck and don't secure it It will blow off in the wind. There are large holes in the metal feet to nail it down or secure it into the ground.
