I was looking for a steelhead spinning rod, saw Daiwa has this new DXS rod.
To tell the build-quality of a rod, just look at the warranty terms, if it states 5 years or life time, it is going to be good.
I was looking for a nice crankbait spinning rod, there are not many in sub-$100 range. This one is a surprise, casting bomber or Rapala crankbait out of the box proves surprisingly long distance. For long casting, it is smooth as silk. Of course, pairing with a nice spinning reel (lightweight stradic ci4 or daiwa fuego) help to ease the work load. As one may need to cast a few hours just to cover a square mile area, and being able to cast from far helps a lot. The sensitivity is excellent for actually all kinds of fishing (steelhead, salmon, crappie, bass, carp...)

Only thing if it can be improved is, the handle length if it can be another 3 inches longer.
