Really nice looking knife,feels great in my hand and handles nice.A very good copy of a original bowie,curved blade instead of flat like like so many others being sold today.The curved blade will continuous cut for the entire slashing stroke.The brass guard is thick and offers good protection to fingers and hand.The grip is very nice coffin shaped stag with three brass pins holding the stag panels solid as a rock.The knife is full tang steel but not stainless like I have read in other reviews.The knife came razor sharp the entire lenth of the blade.One spot had a tiny inperfection in it looking like a small chip but under inspection of the spot it is where the damascus is making its transition from one layer of steel to the next so there is nothing you can do to take it out of the blade.The spot is small and still very sharp.I guess this is what you have to live with when you own a damascus steel blade.I dont know because this is the first damascus blade knife i have owned. I decided to sharpen the swedge so I could make a back cut if I ever needed to.I used a slow speed smooth stone water wheel grinder,making very slow passes so I would not over heat it and mess with the factory tempering.I was very pleased because i could see the layers of steel and thought I had a true damascus blade.I took a brake for a while it being a slow process.The next day while finishing the job I broke through the layers of damascus to solid steel.In a other review the person thought it was stainless handle and heat welded to the damascus blade.I think the blade and grip is a solid piece of steel with thin damascus heat welded to the blade area.They left the tang area shiny steel and that is why he thinks it stainless.This bumbed me out,I thought I had a true damascus bowie for 80 bucks.Not so.I guess I will take it camping and beat the s*** out of it and see if it can hold up.I will write another review and let you know of the results of this knife. I should have paid another 50 bucks and bought a second cold steel trail master.One of the best do all bowies on market today.I would not have bought this knife if I knew it was built this way.It is a great looking and handling knife though.
